ACTIVE TOURISM Given the nature of the terrain, Mountaineering is particularly appropriate, for instance in the climb up to la Tiñosa, as well as Hiking and Excursions; Hunting; Mountain- biking is possible along the numerous paths which cross the Park; Caving and Pot- holing, as in la Sima de Cabra; also Fishing and Water sports in the Iznájar reservoir. GASTRONOMY AND CRAFTS The area's gastronomy stands out for the excellent quality of its sausage products and pastry and cakes. There is a great variety of dishes among the more traditional cooking, with the following worthy of special merit: el relleno de carnival, a dish with a long tradition; the stewed turkey with almonds; the Holy Week mixed vegetables dish; a garlic and goat's meat dish, and the fine wines of Montilla. With regard to craftsmanship, the area is known for its metalworking, particularly in iron, which can be seen in the barred windows and balconies of the area. Besides this the area produces jewellery, hand- loomed fabrics, bobbin lace, pottery, etc. |
