San Roque Festivities

Although there are lot of small festivities in San Roque, the most important and crowded ones are:

San Roque's Holy Week

As you walk along its steep narrow cobbled streets and smell the sweet scent of orange blossom and jasmine, and incense during Holy Week.

This festival was given the prestigious title of Events of Andalusian Tourist Interest, reaching its climax with the Good Friday processions when twelve floats featuring the Twelve Stations of the Cross leave the Saint Mary the Crowned Parish Church.

San Roque Royal Fair

The Royal Fair in August should be visited when the town is teeming with people dressed in colourful flamenco dresses, riding thoroughbred horses, singing and dancing fandangos. The people from San Roque are kind, friendly and fun-loving.
