Following Lorca's footsteps

This is a tour of the area which witnessed the birth and the death of Lorca de most universal poet from Granada. It is possible to visit his birthplace in Fuentevaqueros, the house of Valderrubio where he spent some years with his family, the summer residence of Huerta de San Vicente in Granada, and the park in Alfacar, where the remains of the poet lie in a mass grave.

The house where Federico García Lorca was born on June 5th 1898 is located in the plain of Granada. It has been faithfully restored and is now open to the public as a House Museum where photos, documents, drawings and letters are displayed, as well as manuscripts and the first editions of some of his works. Visitors can purchase various reproductions by Federico García Lorca Cultural Estate.
