Sierra de Aracena. Almonaster- Cerro (hill) de San Cristóbal. Huelva trekking routes
Time: Three hours.
Taking the road from Almonaster to Alájar, outside
the town and after having crossed a small bridge to our left,
there is a well-preserved forest track which leads to the
top of the Cerro de San Cristóbal.
At first the track runs on through a chesnut grove, through
some oaks and holm oaks can be seen as well, but subsequently
it crosses ans area of thickets rich in gorses and furzes.
While ascending, we shall observe on our left an area of fruit
trees which is very beautiful.
The track runs on round the mountain and near the final strech
we shall take a junction to the right to finally reach the
top, 917 m. high, from where a splendid view of towns, villages
and mountains can be seen. It is the second highest peak in
the Sierra de Aracena.
