Sierra de Aracena. From Alájar to Fuenteheridos. Huelva trekking routes
Time: hour and forty- five minutes.
From Alájar, along different streets, several Roman
paths leads to Nuestra Señora los Angeles hermitage,
which is situated near a crossroads between the roads Aracena-
Alájar and Alájar- Fuenteheridos.
From here the track leads to the hermitage among bushes and
holm oaks. After the visit to the rock, from where Alájar
town and its environs can be seen, and after having walked
on along the road to Fuenteheridos, there is an ascending
track to our left that leads again to a road, some metres
from Alájar´s mountain pass, 840 m. high from
where there is an excellent perspective of the area.
From here to the road there are 3 km. of soft descent along
the the northern slope of the Sierra de la Virgen, among chestnut
trees and bushes.
