The province has an excellent road network that permits you driving to the most popular destinations on the Costa del Sol or the inland villages if you just want to see more of the province or enjoy rural tourism.
The main roads of Malaga include:
This motorway runs through the municipalities of Antequera, Casabermeja, Almogia and Malaga.
This highway connects the Costa del Sol in the municipality of Torremolinos to Algeciras in Cadiz, through Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Ojen in Marbella, San Pedro de Alcantara, Estepona and Manilva within the province of Malaga.
This highway connects the provinces of Cordoba and Malaga since 2009 and passes through places like the Reservoir Pantano del Agujero, Casabermeja, Colmenar and Antequera.
From this highway you can get to Seville, Velez Malaga and Guadix among other destinations.
The Mediterranean Highway links Algeciras with Barcelona and is the longest stretch of motorway that runs along Spain's Mediterranean coast. It has stretches of tool road and free stretches and the area belonging to the province of Malaga runs parallel to the National Road N-340.
The N-331 joins Cordoba and Malaga and runs parallel to the Malaga Highway. Formerly it was the only way to get to Cordoba from Malaga by road.
This road takes you along to places like Montilla, Lucena, Antequera or Casabermeja.
The national road N-340 is the longest in Spain joining Cadiz with Barcelona in a course that runs parallel to the Mediterranean Highway and the coast.
