This course was opened in March '98 and is the latest jewel in Andalucia's already glittering golfing crown.
Designed by Dave Thomas, Almenara is located slightly inland from Valderrama and from its lofty perch ir overlooks both the Ryder Cup host club and the nearby The San Roque Club.
The layout has two clearly defined sections, the first part throught the wooded terrain so typical of the Sotogrande area and the second through more open scenery including a spectacular lake. Owner by Sotogrande S.A.
Almenara has opened its own 150 room hotel and an extensive clubhouse complex. A futher nine holes are due to open in 2001.
