El Candado golf course

El Candado is one of the first Golf clubs established on the Costa del Sol. This 9-holes par 33 was opened in 1968 and designed by Carlos Fernandez Caleya. It is a very short course of about 2,300 meters length located in a small valley 5 km east of Malaga.

The course is tricky because of the design, which has many slopes, and also for its greens. Is a field with many obstacles but it is not difficult. You must place the ball accurately, rather than making long shots.

The Club El Candado has a rather unique offer for its members regarding other sports facilities for non-golfers including horse-riding and tennis, paddle, swimming pools, football field, yacht club (sailing) and trips to the countryside.

Members can hire annually, monthly or daily Greenfees and also have a lighted practice tee and a golf school for children.

Membership card with valid handicap is essential. The monthly membership fee is ranging between 76 and 88 €.

How to get there: The course is situated on the eastern Costa del Sol, 5 km from Malaga city. On the highway MA-24 toward Motril we take the exit for El Candado.
