Events Calendar in Malaga: November 2015

November in Malaga – far from being dull and dreary – comes in the first half with Film and Music Festivals, while towards the end of the month we can start to enjoy some of the most spectacular Christmas lights on the Costa del Sol in Malaga city and Fuengirola.

The Fantastic Film Festival Torremolinos has become in few years a reference on the Costa del Sol and the film world, with more than 50 films and 90 short films for all tastes and ages: Suspense, horror, fantasy, science fiction, action, adventure, epic, animation, gore, black humour, classic and previews. The screenings take place in the Congress Centre Torremolinos.

Now in its eighth edition, takes place every year the International Festival of Rockabilly and American Roots Music which is traditionally held at the Sunset Beach Hotel in Benalmadena. There is a vast line-up of live music and DJs.

Jazz lovers have a great appointment in Malaga in the 29th edition of the International Jazz Festival from 9 to 15 November, with an excellent list of artists like Al Di Meola, Jerry Gonzalez, Richard Galliano, Doctor Lonnie Smith or Esperanza Spalding.

Concerts at Theatre Cervantes are accompanied by many side events in the city, a stage in the street and Jam Sessions at Pier One, The Wall Bar, Velvet, La Chancla and Merced Market, in addition to film screenings.

The Torremolinos Congress Centre hosts a new edition of the Mediterranean Food and Wine Fair gathering professionals and the general public, enology, sommeliers and gastronomy.

There will be over 120 exhibitors from wineries, extra virgin olive oil, Iberian products, deli, gourmet specialties, craft beers, cheese, poultry, water and pickles etc. offering unique experiences to the palate.

Christmas Market in Fuengirola

In the central square of Fuengirola takes place a Christmas market with wooden stalls.
This Costa del Sol municipality is noteworthy for one of the most spectacular Christmas lights throughout the Costa del Sol, especially this square and surrounding streets. We can recommend a walk in the evening through the city centre at this time of the year, you’ll love it!

Christmas lighting in Malaga city



This year the date for the inauguration the Christmas lights in Malaga has been moved forward to the end of November, namely 28 November. If you are in or near the city do not miss the spectacular ambiance in the city centre, especially in Calle Larios – the main shopping street of the city – and Plaza de la Constitution (in the pic the Christmas decorations last year in Calle Larios).
