Malaga New Years Eve and Three Kings Parades

Malaga Port Fireworks
Two great dates in the winter festival calendar in the province of Malaga are certainly New Years Eve and the day of the popular parades of the 3 Kings. During these two dates a huge number of people are enjoying the atmosphere in the streets, accompanied by the generally mild temperatures at this time of year.

We have prepared a little special edition if you are in Malaga on these dates with your partner, friends or family and we invite you to join the locals celebrating in the streets!

The majority of hotels generally offer New Year festivities with dinner, which is a safe bet. But if you want to know how the locals celebrate we suggest you get out into the streets.
Here is a small guide: Classically, the locals have dinner at home with family and friends, where they usually also toast to the New Year before celebrating in the streets and clubs.

However, in all main squares of the municipalities there are partys with live music.
The classic outfit that night is a black dress with red underwear for luck next year, weird costumes carnival style including colourful masks, wigs or hats, party blowers and of course the 12 lucky grapes to be swallowed before ending the 12 chimes.
