Millions of colourful lights, blossoming Poinsettia and illuminated traditional cribs give the romantic Old Town a festive splendour and invite for a stroll.
Malaga is a paradise for shoppers: Clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, crafts, antiques and art – here city travellers will find everything that their hearts desire. Especially romantic is the historic old town with its pedestrian streets, the winding streets and over 1,000 shops in the immediate vicinity of impressive monuments, museums, restaurants and cafes. Centre of the shopping scene in the heart of the city, is calle Larios, a popular shopping street and pedestrian zone.
Christmas lights in Malaga this year
The Christmas lights in Malaga are usually lit throughout the month of December to the 6th of January. During this time the streets are very lively with pedestrians taking a walk and enjoying the lighted atmosphere.
And after the stroll, we recommend some of the specialties of Malaga as roasted chestnuts, a hot cup of chocolate with Churros at a coffee shop or some of the typical Christmas sweets like Roscos de Anis.
As December is a month which is not really cold in the Costa del Sol, you can spend plenty of quality time on the streets savouring and enjoying Christmas lighting in Malaga, probably one of the brightest across Europe!
Do not visit the city only for the christmas lighting, there are many markets in the province where shopping, eating or just stroll around while eating roasted chestnuts, ideal places where buying some gifts and/or souvenirs if visiting Malaga during Christmas.
