This peak is the tallest peak in Sierra Alhamilla, a popular destination for cyclists although with a difficult slope for anyone not used to this type of route.
This peak can be accessed in different ways, from the Baths of Sierra Alhamilla, from the village Turrillas, from Huebro or after crossing the Oasys Theme Park. Once the peak is reached you can join other hiking trails including the Al-19 that descends to the village Nijar.
If you access from the upper part of the village Turrillas you will walk a trail which you can also drive to the summit; you can park the car shortly after the detour to Tabernas, after which you walk a trail with a gentle slope to the summit.
You can start the route in the village Turrillas as mentioned above, you can park there and walk up the paved road to the wind farm. Upon encountering a junction take the path on the right until the next junction where you turn left at a short walking distance from the summit.
- From the peak you can descend to the baths in about two hours.
- Do not forget to bring enough water because along the way there are no water sources. If you want to know how to get to Sierra Alhamilla please visit our guide.
