This unspoilt inaccessible cove includes a protected underwater space and a landscape of cliffs immersing into the sea.
In this area is situated Cerro de los Lobos, a site used in the past as a point of surveillance; there was built in the mid-eighteenth century a watchtower on the hill from where to watch the coast and it continued to be used until the mid-twentieth century when it was included as a protected place of Cabo de Gata-Níjar and was used as a lighthouse since 1991 after being restored.
The village of San Jose in Almeria, from where you can head towards the cove is a town of Nijar from where you can also access the Bay Genoveses and Monsul Beach, where have been shot numerous films as the famous Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
