Olvera is a small hilltop village in the province of Cadiz, officially designated as a Conjunto Historico Artistico (historic-artistic ensemble). Nestled between the provinces of Seville and Malaga, it is about a 2-hour drive (130 km) from the city of Cadiz. Olvera forms part of the famous Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos (Route of the White Villages) and sits in the northeast of the Serrania de Cadiz at an altitude of 643 metres.
