Totalan is a village in the province of Malaga that hosts plenty of routes that we can do either walking or horse-riding. The majority of the routes depart from the Constitution Square situated in the centre of the village.
Totalan is situated in a mountainous area near the sea, it has deep valleys and streams that flow through them, steep mountainsides and cliffs. A visit to the area of La Toma in the Totalan stream is recommended, which can be accessed via the road of Fuente de la Teja.
In the interior of the village we can wander around its narrow streets discovering, not only its monuments, but also the most significant streets. From the highest point of the route we’ll be able to enjoy a general view of the village and the Mediterranean Sea in the background.
This route is pretty easy and suitable for anyone, it can be done in very little time as its length is only approximately 1 kilometre.
12 kilometres without any large slopes for all those that are fit and in good shape that can do it cycling in about 7 hours (there and back is 24 kilometres).
The trail runs between rivers and valleys where we can admire the scenery in between the two places or we can explore the streets and monuments in Moclinejo, like its church, built during the 16th and 17th century.
From Totalan to the beach of La Cala del Moral on a route that runs along the riverbed of the Totalan stream with beautiful views of the mountains that surround us. The trail runs along a steep hill that descends towards the sea.
It can be done either cycling or walking and the route is quite easy although the ascent on the way back can get rather tough for those less used to it. It takes approximately 4 hours to complete the route and return with a total distance of approximately 15 kilometres.
