Many tourists opt for a more rural tourism, visiting natural areas, parks and reservoirs. In the map above you find the rivers of Cadiz; some of the best known, for surrounding areas, are the following:
River El Bosque
Being the river source located at an altitude of about 500 meters, the river of El Bosque passes through the town of the same name and has a beautiful hiking trail that can be completed on foot.
River Barbate
This river has its river mouth in Barbate and its source in Sierra del Aljibe at a height of 920 metres.
River Genal
This small river flows into the below mentioned river Guadiaro; its environment is known as the Genal Valley, an ideal place for rural tourism.
River Guadalete
Formerly the river was navigable to Jerez de la Frontera and flows into the sea at Puerto de Santa Maria
River Guadiaro
The river source is situated in Malaga in the region of Serrania de Ronda and flows into the sea in Sotogrande. This river has beautiful hiking trails near its source.
River Picaro
Located in Algeciras, this short river flows into the sea in the Bay of Algeciras in the Natural Park of the Strait; one of those places that might be worth visiting if you're in the area.
Rio de la Miel
With its source in Sierra del Bujeo at an altitude of 350 meters, this short river of only 9 km in length is situated within the Natural Park of Alcornocales.
