If you visit southern Spain, the Costa Tropical in Granada is a region of Granada bordering east with Almeria and the Costa del Sol in Malaga in the west.

Located at the foot of the Natural Park of the Sierra de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama is situated the municipality of Otivar to where you can get taking the rural road (SO-02) at Suspiro del Moro on the motorway Granada-Motril or taking this rural road from Almuñecar.
Otivar is situated 300 meters above sea level and is a perfect destination for those seeking rural tourism and traveling nature trails with beautiful views.
Between Motril and Almuñecar is situated Salobreña, a municipality with a history dating back to prehistoric times and which currently bases its economy on tourism seeking good beaches and great food.

origin, known in antiquity known as Sexi by the Romans, Almuñecar received its present name from the Arabs, who rebuilt a few remnants left after the fall of the Roman Empire.
Located in the western end of the Costa Tropical, Almuñecar has a typical subtropical Mediterranean climate and natural beaches where you can even practice nudism; all this makes this town a recommended place that you can visit comfortably from Malaga with a rental car.
