Marbella is located 55 km west of Malaga Airport (AGP), approximately 45–60 minutes by car depending on traffic. The Old Town is compact and best explored on foot, while Puerto Banus and the beaches are easily reachable by taxi or bus.

  • ALSA Bus – Direct services from Malaga Airport and Malaga city to Marbella (approx. 1 hour). Cheap and frequent.
  • Local buses in Marbella – Connect the Old Town, Golden Mile and Puerto Banus. Line 1 and 7 are especially useful.
  • Taxis & ride-hailing apps – Readily available and reasonably priced for short trips within Marbella.
  • Walking – The Old Town and seafront promenade are pedestrian-friendly and very pleasant to explore on foot.
Parking tip: The Old Town has limited parking. Use the underground car parks at Plaza de los Naranjos or near Avenida Ricardo Soriano. Puerto Banus has large paid parking areas.
Pro tip: If you are staying in the Old Town or on the Golden Mile, you can easily reach most attractions on foot. Renting a car is especially worthwhile if you plan to explore further afield, such as Ronda, Ojen or the beaches west of Estepona.
