Monte Mayor Golf & Country Club is located in a high mountain valley in the municipality of Benahavis, between the towns of Marbella and Estepona.
This golf course 18 holes par 71 designed by Jose Gancedo and opened in 1989 is outstanding by its natural beauty.
In this spectacular course there are six bridges joining tees, fairways and greens. The course is difficult because of the hilly terrain, but is an attractive challenge for all players. Among experts, Monte Mayor is often rated among the top golf courses in the world and it is definitely one of the most spectacular golf courses in Andalucia.
Monte Mayor is situated off the beaten track, in fabulous natural scenery and is incredibly quiet.
This is a mountain course, and is definitely well worth the drive up from the N-340.
Your eyes will not be overwhelmed by front line housing, but by the beauty and spectacular scenery and you will need to play thoughtful golf.
As there is plenty of amazing views to keep your attention, take a camera along as well.

How to get there: From Malaga airport take the motorway A-7 / AP-7 in the direction of Algeciras. Continue along E-15/AP-7 (Marbella / Algeciras). After Marbella, take the exit 181A and follow the highway A-7. Take the exit toward Cancelada / Benahavis. Take the Benahavis road (A-7175) and continue straight for about 7 km, passing along the Marbella Golf Club and the municipality of Benahavis.
