Thanks for the excellent service. Both pick-up and drop of the car was very well organized. Competitive pricing for a brand new Mini Countryman. No surprises in the credit card billing.

Rented a car for the first time in Spain from Sunday May 10th until May 17th.Renault Scenic spotless condition...collected at airport and quickly on our way. Malagacar kept their promise and retrned our credit card deposit within two days as promised.When I mailed about this Alberto replied immediately with proof of the transaction.All in all a very satisfactory Experience with a friendly smile for our granddaughter

This is the first time I have used Malagacar upon reccomendation after having my credit card cloned by one of their compeditors not far away from Malagacar and found the service and vehicle very good (so good in fact I have today booked again for September) . Things were a little chaotic this morning as another customer had dumped a car in the entrance to the building and gone off with the keys ,but this was resolved quickly as the spare keys to the car were found, al in all 5 star service and vehicle

je suis client depuis plusieurs années et loue un véhicule 2 à 3 fois par an, de plus, je dirige vers malagacar les personnes qui me demandent conseil pour la location d'un véhicule à Malaga. Une seule de ces personnes a eu un problème non négligeable avec la serrure de la portière conducteur. Pour ma part et durant ces années, je n'ai eu à déplorer que de petits bémols sans grande importance. bien sûr, il y a toujours à critiquer, pas d'"état-des-lieux" lorsqu'on reçoit le véhicule ni lors de la remise mais je n'ai jamais eu de souci en la matière même en ayant reçu un véhicule donc la carrosserie n'était pas nickel. Je n'ai jamais eu de mauvaise surprise avec le 1/2 plein. En principe, un coup d'œil sur la jauge avant de partir devrait suffire à piéger un oubli éventuel. L'an dernier j'ai demandé de disposer d'une voiture avant l'heure d'atterrissage prévue pour le vol renseigné, cela a posé aucun problème, la voiture était disponible à l'heure souhaitée. Globalement je leur donnerais, pour le bon rapport qualité du service/prix, un 9,5/10 mais ne sachant le faire, j'arrondi à l'unité supérieure.

Cannot rate this company very high at present as I have been waiting 5 days to receive back my 800€ deposit. The car was returned on time and undamaged on Tuesday with the promise of an automatic refund of the deposit. It's now Saturday and I have emailed 4 times and am still waiting for my money. I think the refund should be made immediately the car is returned in just the same way as the money is taken instantly when the car is picked up, but this is clearly not so. 800€ is a lot of money and is effectively being lent for free to this company. If I don't get the refund soon I shall be contacting my credit card company.

Bonjour,

Je viens 3 à 4 fois par an à Marbella (famille / vacances / travail), j'ai l'habitude de louer des voitures.

Me basant sur les divers témoignages, je me suis laisser appâter par malagacar.com
Ayant inviter ma belle famille à découvrir la région, nous avons décidé de prendre un véhicule type kangoo (grand coffre). Nous avons bien reçu un type kangoo (Fiat doblo).
Le véhicule était vraiment bas de gamme et en mauvais état: même pas la tempetature exterieure ou une telecommande pour ouvrir ou fermer les portes :) De plus la serrure du coffre avait été forcé, rayures, etc ..

Pour finir, ils ont compté 40,80 euros d'essence ce qui d'après le gars devait correspondre à la moitié du plein d'essence. En récupérant le véhicule nous avions une autonomie de 100 kilometres (même pas le 1er quart). La personne qui a réceptionné le véhicule m'a confirmé que cela arrivait des fois, classe !
Un peu du vol quand même.

A bientôt pour de nouvelles aventures en Andalousie mais sans malagacar.com ;)

Thanks for your words. You booked for a Kangoo or Dobló and you got a Dobló. This car is not equipped with outside temperature gauge but it has central locking (though not with remote control). The car is rented now and I have just called the client who say the car is in good conditions for him.

About the fuel, you paid 40,80 € for 30 litres so this is 1,29 € per litre, WE DON´T CHARGE REFUELING SERVICE FEE.

Used this company for the first time last week. Excellent very speedy service both picking up and dropping off and good quality vehicles.
Be aware however that any damage deposit on your credit card is activated immediately which may mean costs for the both the withdrawal and return transactions. OK if your card does not charge for foreign use. Other than that a first class hire service

Sorry, very disappointed in my rental hired a car for 4 days and paid the 800 euros on my credit card as a deposit, however it has taken 9 days for the refund of my deposit to be processed ! Not good enough im afraid .

We rented our car on 30 April for 1 week the excess insurance. Has gone from 7 euros I per day in February to 12 euros in Apr il the car was 40 euros ins 84 euros 31 euros for fuel the service is good but taking the insurance is a rip off I shall be getting my own excess insurance in the UK for 40.00 per yrear I will be saving money on this as I use your company about 7 times a year

The service was top notch, we are very satisfied. Fast and reliable. We had been very hesitant about the quality as the prices are incredibly low. We never before had such a quick return as with Malagacar.com. The transfer works perfectly. From now on they are the Number 1 for us in Andalusia.

Only regarding the insurance with excess, the employee was slightly annoyed. In this case they require deposit 800 Euros, which is correct; after returning the car, they return the sum. As in other car rentals rarely we get the reserved model, but the same group is fine. The Fiat was in good condition; I photographed small scratches from previous rentals and pointed them out in the contract.

My experience over the past eight years renting cars with this company have been great very competitive rates great cars and friendly staff and on arrival at their depot I never have to worry as everything is in place ready for the collection of my rental car .PS there is no rip off with regards to the fuel agreement.

I am extremely annoyed at being mislead AGAIN by Malagar car hire. In Sept last year we rented a car from them and they used my credit card to take a security deposit. It is best practice that they apply this as holding funds and do not actually charge the credit card but keep the amount in ''escrow'' so that when the car is returned the SAME amount is released back on the card. I was stung by this in sept 14 when I lot £80 in transaction and exchange rate fees because malaga car debited my card directly for the amount. When we complained they told us it was a mistake and sent apologies. I booked with them again for April 15 only to find they have done this AGAIN resulting in me losing £122 this time in exchange rates and fees....taking £670 from my card and refunding only £575. I am furious and find this company absolutely despicable for their actions and will NEVER book with them again and write as many poor reviews as possible regarding them !

Kära Malagacar. Jag har använt Er under många år och tyckt att Ni var mycket bra, har även ebn hemsida om Spanien och där rekommenderat Er. Men det tycks vara slut med detta nu. Blev vid senaste bokningen mycket besviken. Först dediterar ni second driver med 40€ som varit gratis innan och därefter låser Ni 1000€ om man inte tar tillägsförsäkring vilket jag inte brukar göra. Resultatet blev att5 de pengar som jag skulle leva på under vistelsen i Spanien försvann då kortet slog i maxtaket. Får man verkligen bete sig på detta sätt. Ni förstörde hela vår vistelse denna gång. Jag vill gärna ha en kommentar från Er ledningsansvarig. Kommer att ta bort rekommendationen på min hemsida. Ni har fått många kunder tack vare denna sida. Historien är så allvarlig att detta bör påtalas i den turistpress som finns i Spanien. Ett annat skäl är att Ni har en elktronisk underskrift som inte visar vad man skrivit på utan upptäcker det hela först när papperet överlämnas. bonjour, pour la premiére fois que je loue chez malagacar je suis trés content c est la meilleur que je connais a l aeroport pourtant je vais a malaga plusieur fois par an un service rapide a l arrivé comme au depart un personnel serviable et aimable qui ne vous force pas a prendre les assurance il vous laisse votre choix et un service carburant qui est tres bien mise a part un petit detail le carburant etait a la moitié 5 kms aprés il avais descendue d une barre enfin c est un petit détail

I have used Malagacar about 30 times over the past 10 years.
Although they are not situated directly in the airport, their bus shuttle service is very efficient and takes approximately 1 minute to get to their depot.
They are well organised and easy to deal with unlike some of the bigger companies and never rip you off. Thanks Malagacar and see you in May!

On your website, you have big red text that you don't charge any extra for gasoline services. I rented a car and the amount should be 42€ + 20€ for gas service. However the sum for the rent was 122 €. The car should be ½ tank full. In real life there was about 1/3 (=2/6) and when I returned the car, tank was 1/6 full. So I used 1/6 tank and payed 60€ for that plus gas service 20€ = 122€. In my 25 years car driving career I haven't never crushed my car. So I didn't take any extra insurance. Because of that you kindle charged 1000€ from my VISA card. I returned that car on Tuesday and now on Friday my VISA account is still negative because of that charge that automatically disappear some day (I really hope). So next time I will for sure choose another company.

We have used Malagacar for approx 4-5 times per year for the last 5 years. They are an excellent company with no rip-offs. However, on our last holiday last month (24 Apr) we were robbed of my handbag via the flat tyre being let down by these people. Malacar came out to us within 30 mins to repair the tyre, but I was then told that I had to return the car to the airport in order to get a spare wheel. This I could not do until day 3 as the crime had to be reported (6 hrs in the police stn) cards had to be cancelled and extra money had to be obtained. My partner is also disabled and his needs have to be catered for. Can you tell me, Malagacar, has your policy been changed and are you possibly now taking a hire car out to ANYBODY who needs it or do we still have to return to the airport from wherever we are to change it? I have still not had a response from your Car hire manager and await one with anticipation.This was a very traumatic situation for us and just that little bit of help from yourselves would have helped greatly.

I can understand this is a really traumatic situation but at Malaga airport you could find a police station and may be you had not to wait 6 hours. He policy didn’t change so this is why We called Mapfre and the wheel was changed.

As soon as We received the phone call from you the assistance was sent but you have to understand the spare wheel must be given in our office.

I have been using Malagacars for many years now and have always found them to be an excellent company. However on my visit last week I was told that the extra insurance would cost 14 euros a day up from about 6 euro a day last month. When I said I would not take it out, I was told I would have to pay a 1000 euro deposit. I use them about 6 times per year, so if this is how they treat their regular customers then it will be bad luck for everyone else. I tried to speak to the manager but he is never there

Once again we have had excellent service from malagacar. We have been using them for 5 years now. Their pay on arrival policy is great and there are never any fuel problems. There is no pressure to take out extra insurance and we have always been treated with the upmost courtesy. All staff friendly and professional. Prices always very good would definitely recommend. Bonus this year was a brand new car!!!! Have already booked for June 15.
