Jaen Province has many villages that you can visit if you like rural tourism; in the map above you can see the highlights.
All the towns we recommend below are accessible by car from Malaga; another benefit of renting a car in Malaga is exploring this beautiful province and you can even return the same day.
Among the towns of Jaen are outstanding the following:
Baeza
This town, located in the heart of the province of Jaen, has been declared a World Heritage Site. Visitors can enjoy breath-taking landscapes and streets that transport you to another time, a unique spot to enjoy during your vacation.
Strolling around Baeza we recommend getting to the viewpoints of Paseo de las Murallas, where you have a nice view of Sierra de Cazorla and Segura.
Ubeda
Very close to Baeza, as shown in the map, is situated the town of Ubeda, a commercial and cultural centre in Jaen.
Ubeda is well connected by road so you can easily get there from Malaga by car. This town is one of the largest producers of olive oil in Jaen, and as a complement to its economy there is also cultural tourism.
Linares
Capital of the region of Sierra Morena it’s a perfect town for a rural holiday. It has good road communication with other towns in Jaen like Ubeda through the A-32 highway and with Bailen.
A visit to Linares and a walk through its streets can take you to places like the Archaeological Museum in the old quarter or the Museum of Mining Landscape, a museum that shows the mining past of the region.
Cazorla
Old town which received the first human settlements since 2000 BC, being one of the pillars from which developed the Iberian culture. Archaeological remains show us the later settlement of both Romans and Muslims in the area.
Cazorla is also an ideal place to enjoy nature. You can find hiking trails of great beauty in Sierra de Cazorla.
Andujar
This town is divided by the Guadalquivir River, with Sierra de Andujar in the north, which is home to some of the last examples of Iberian lynx left in the world.
