Since the inauguration of the new terminal T3 all European flights arrive and depart from this new terminal, the old terminal T2 is relegated to those passengers who have destinations outside the European Union (and some low cost carriers). In the new T3 are located all tour operators and travelers passing through the terminal can enjoy a wide selection of shops, cafes and restaurants to make the waiting time more enjoyable.
On September 10th, 2010 has come into operation the new commuter train station at the airport of Malaga. Although the station is situated in the underground, it was conceived with the same design as the new terminal: spacious and flooded with natural light, glass and chrome are the main elements, providing natural light and fresh air. The suburban train station is entirely oriented to the new T3 and is part of the transportation hub at the Airport Plaza and thus the access to the T3 is very easy and fast.
