WARNING I have been renting a car from malagacar for 5 years about 3a4 times a year, never had any problems but the last year the deposit return on my credit card takes at least 30 days. We rented a car from June 28 to July 3, no full-time packet so always €800 deposit was known but now for convenience or just €1000 deposit wanted to do they had no explanation for that. But okay no big problem and car with. Upon returning, no one wanted to sign for correct delivery but after 10 minutes of walking past each other, got a signature. After 7 days of homecoming, I was surprised that there was no deposit return. I emailed why it takes so long again? Had a nice email back with their apologies that it took so long that is not the normal course of events they told me but this had already happened 3 times before. Then you would think they would fix it right away but I am now 14 days later and the deposit of €1000 has not yet been returned. Contract taken with signatures also does not help. Mail is also no longer answered. Called credit card company and they could not do anything about it either. So people do what you want with this info but be warned of these practices and look further And ALWAYS have them sign when returning

Dear customer, We are really sorry for the incident but please talk to your bank so the amount is not blocked. After a few days the car has been picked up the money is unlocked automatically.

We rented a Nissan Qashqai 4x2 (GROUP XC) from Malagacar.com from 13.07.2017 to 17.07.2017. We deliberately chose the Full-Pack rate (258.17 EUR) instead of the Basic rate (approx. 150 EUR) because we wanted to avoid the usual renegotiations of rental stations about previously unmentioned price surcharges. I had deliberately stated that I needed the car only at 8:00 am, as an EXTRA CHARGE of 35 EUR is due for a rental between 11:00 pm and 8:00 am. The arrival time of our flight was scheduled for 7:25 am. The remaining 35 minutes until 8:00 am were planned for picking up the suitcase, finding the shuttle stand and possibly a coffee. Now, of course, the eager landlord dutifully reported at 7:21 am where we were staying. This call and the alleged waiting of the shuttle since 7:20 am was then charged to us with 35 EUR for pick-up before 8:00 am, although our flight was delayed and we had no possibility to use the shuttle before 8:00 am. When I objected that we had only ordered the shuttle for 8:00 am, it was replied that the surcharge was usual and it counted when the plane was announced and not when I wanted to come. This is exactly why we had chosen the Full-Pack rate to avoid this scam and the associated stress due to unnecessary discussions! After we spent the first 15 minutes of our vacation with a nerve-wracking and pointless discussion in broken English, it became too stupid for the landlord and he offered us an upgrade to a Toyota RAV4 (GROUP XK) in return. In order not to collect any more negative impressions, we agreed. The vehicle was in technically and optically very good condition. The return was also unproblematic and fast and the shuttle on the way to the airport was also okay and timely.

I have been using HelleHollis for 15 years. Then I decided to try another company. I found that Malagacar has the best and fair information. No hidden costs. I tried it couple of times and very happy with almost everything. Another advantage is the price. Almost 40 % cheaper the HH. I am coming back soon.

For our most recent visit to Malaga (27/06/2017) we had booked a car in group D ("Renault Megane or Ford Focus"). Instead we were given a Fiat 500L and when we expressed surprise, we were told "this is a very nice car", so we accepted it. However, we found it to be very inferior to the Renault or the Ford models in this category: It was extremely noisy and underpowered, requiring frequent gear changing, especially when driving up the hills on the AP7 (where it was difficult to even reach 100km per hour). It is also difficult to park as rear visibility is poor and there are no "beepers" on the back bumper to warn you of obstacles. The interior is very basic and finally, the boot lid is difficult to open and close, (particularly if you measure 160cm tall, as I could not reach high enough to close it!). Please do not give us this model again!

I have had Malaga cars for probably 10 years, in 2016 I said I would not use you anymore as it took about four hours from us leaving the terminal to driving away in the car! This year my daughter persuaded me to use you again however, you couldn't (or wouldn't) supply the car I wanted a group D automatic so I had to pay considerably more to get an automatic BMW. This year the service from the terminal to your office was far better as was the waiting time at the office. You will know from your records that whilst on holiday we do not cover a large number of miles in the car. The Half and Half is fine for us however on arrival, the lady who served us, as the last item, said the tank was full and there would be no refund for any unused fuel. Having used only 1 third of the tank we have lost out on the 2 thirds, and you have the audacity to say you do not rip off customers on fuel. My experience shows that to be a complete rip-off!!! Your thoughts?
