I rented for the first time with Malagacar recently. I was ripped off terribly by Avis the first time...the car was ok, there was a loose wire so my maps kept dropping off the screen. I had to hit it for the image to come back. But that was the cheapest car. I am renting again in October and have chosen a more expensive car. Hopefully there will be no problems...

Reservation 1557827 Normally 4.5-5.0 out of 5,0 but this time 2.0 hence average of 4.0. I never normally write reviews but having read others wanted to give a fair review. I hired car last week but the whole experience has been disappointing.. A small thing was I was told where car was but not shown or inspected. I was told as I had Zero Excess cover that it made no difference. The car was semi-clean and as I travelled down the N340 I thought it was faulty. Failing power and a clutch that is I think about to go. I soon realised that despite only 2 people it was a power thing that limited car to 40km going up hill. The next day I realised there were various dents , scrapes etc and you could tell somewhere old and some more recent. I don't use the car a lot but this experience (faulty engine, dents etc) made me concerned as to how well maintained the car is., I will balance my review by saying past experiences have been excellent with Malaga Car and I do understand that July/Aug is busiest time of the year however it would be a shame to let their previous standard slip. Hope this helps.

Waiting for 45 minutes to be picked up at the trainstation. Not even a word of appreciation when we arrived at the rental location. Car did not have enough space in the boot for 2 big suitcases. All in all disappointing.

Great first time experience. We have booked cars with other suppliers before, but we can certainly recommend Malagacar. Short wait for the shuttle-bus late at night, then very quick office run-through with the paperwork. Got a bigger car than expected, probably just a couple of months old. As we had the total coverage the return was super-efficient! Will definitely book there again!

Contract nr 102215730 We rented a Seat Ibiza, matric :7596LRR The car was NOT in a good shape. Every time we had to take a climb, the car lost a lot of power and we were taken over by trucks !! Besides the car made a very strange sound, whenever I pushed the accelerator. A real roaring sound. The car did not have the quality and the standards we were used to have from Malagacar. (1549878) booking reference I am so disappointed with the car I was given this time. My whole family use MalagaCar, Paul McCarthy, Sarah McGeough, Ciara and Joseph Mackle/McCarthy. On my experience this time we will definitely consider using a different company. The car is very dated and old no electric windows in the back. The phone charger/USB doesn't work. The seats are dirty and stained! Just not acceptable after years of dealing with your company. The gentleman who dealt with me in the office was very unfriendly and quite frankly uninterested. My experiences before were definitely better but sadly not on this occasion.
