In this very interesting article with original photos you can find out more about the beginnings of Marbella, a fishing village surrounded by farmland, where one day in 1947 Prince Alfonso of Hohenlohe arrived in search of suitable land to attract the international jet set.
Within a few years it became a favourite destination for international high society, royalty, singers and actors.
