The cable car is situated in the municipality of Benalmadena, in Malaga province. It connects Arroyo de la Miel to the top of the Monte Calamorro in the Mijas mountain range at a height of about 769 metres.
From Monte Calamorro you can see the coast of Africa on a clear day. The Benalmadena Cable Car opened in the year 2000, and since then it has become one of the main tourist attractions not only of Benalmadena, but of the whole Costa del Sol.
The Cable Car Experience Rising through the clouds, right up to top of the sky and reaching our destination at the top of Monte Calamorro, in no more than 15 minutes, where plenty of activities await...like going on a trekking route and taking lots of pictures. Right at the top you can also go on a donkey ride and fully enjoy the natural environment that surrounds you.
There are also animal exhibitions with over 60 species of birds.
After an intense day up in the Benalmadena mountain, we can sit down, relax, rest and have something to eat or drink in the restaurant; and don’t forget to take plenty of pictures of the coast from our privileged position.
The Cable Car cabin has room for up to 4 people, and you can buy either a one-way ticket or a return ticket, as there are people who prefer to use the paths on the way back down to enjoy a pleasant walk in the countryside.
It’s certainly an enriching experience for the whole family and well worth the visit.
All you have to do is get to Arroyo de la Miel and head straight forward along the main street until you reach Tivoli World. The cable car entrance is straight opposite.
