Pick up your hire car at Malaga Airport and reach Benalmadena in just 15-20 minutes via the A-7. In Puerto Marina there are several parking options (two outdoor car parks and one underground). In high season, paid parking is the most convenient. Important tip: if you plan to drink alcohol, leave the car at your hotel and take a taxi back. Drink-driving checks are common in the nightlife areas.

If you prefer not to drive, the bus (line M-110 and local services) stops near Plaza Solymar and Puerto Marina. In summer it can be very crowded, especially on the way back. The Cercanias train (line C-1) stops at Arroyo de la Miel – ideal if you want to enjoy the more relaxed pubs in that area. The last train towards Fuengirola usually departs around 00:15, and towards Malaga around 00:30–00:50 (check exact times with Renfe on the day of travel).
The music selection is very varied to suit different tastes. Venues like Warare Discoteca Latina specialise in Latin rhythms, while Mango plays current hits, reggaeton, electronic and dance charts. Many pubs also offer DJ sessions or live music, especially the Irish pubs with rock and international pop.
The months of July and August are the clear highlight, when it is peak season and the town fills with young people and holidaymakers. Weekends in spring and autumn also have a great atmosphere, especially at Plaza Solymar and in Puerto Marina.
