The history of Puerto Marina begins during the 1960s with the tourist boom of the time.
Construction began on November 12, 1972 and was completed 10 years later. Puerto Marina has been named the best marina in the world on 2 occasions (1995 and 1997), an honor that has been awarded by specialized international magazines.

Puerto Marina in Benalmádena is surrounded by beautiful beaches. One of the most popular and closest beaches to Puerto Marina is Santa Ana Beach. Another beach near Puerto Marina is Malapesquera / Torrebermeja Beach. This beach is especially recommended for families with children and older people due to its calm waters and wide range of services. It is a beach where young people often go to practice sports such as beach soccer or volleyball among others.

If you are on the western Costa del Sol and want to get to Puerto Marina, you can take the AP-7 towards Málaga. Continue on the AP-7 until exit 222 towards Benalmádena/Arroyo de la Miel. Follow the signs towards Benalmádena Costa/Puerto Marina and you will reach your destination.
If you are in Málaga and want to get to Puerto Marina by car, you can take the MA-20 towards Algeciras. Continue on the MA-20 until exit 1 towards Torremolinos/Benalmádena. Follow the signs towards Benalmádena Costa/Puerto Marina and you will reach your destination. The journey is approximately 20 km and can take around 20 minutes depending on traffic.
From the eastern Costa del Sol you can take the A-7 towards Málaga. Continue on the A-7 until exit 222 towards Benalmádena/Arroyo de la Miel. Follow the signs towards Benalmádena Costa/Puerto Marina and you will reach your destination.
If you prefer to use public transport, you can get to Puerto Marina by bus or train. Bus lines M-110 and M-123 have stops near Puerto Marina. You can also take the C1 train line which has a stop at Benalmádena-Arroyo De La Miel, about a 15-minute walk from Puerto Marina.

Although there is free parking in the Puerto Marina area, it can be difficult to find a free space for your car. However, there are paid parking options in the center of the port. In the Marina there are 3 car parks, 2 open-air and one underground. There is also a blue parking zone at the beginning of the port, opposite Hypercor supermarket.
