Manilva is situated to the westernmost area of the Malaga province. We could say that it's located nearer to Gibraltar than to the capital of the province, which is 95 km. away, whilst Gibraltar is only 35 km. away. Its privileged location by Marbella, only 20 minutes from Puerto Banus and near Sotogrande, make of this municipality the chosen destination by many tourists. Manilva is primarily a friendly and peaceful municipality from the first moment.
This municipality extends along 33.30 km. and is situated on a height of 128 metres above sea level, with an average temperature of 18ºC.
From a birds eye view, Manilva can be observed as a series of mountains that ascend from sea level up towards the interior, which makes it the ideal place to enjoy both the sun and sea tourism and the rural tourism, with routes and paths to fully enjoy the natural environment that this particular area offers.
Manilva is divided into three important population cores: Manilva, Sabinillas and El Castillo (the castle). Although it has a population of around 14000 inhabitants, approximately all year round, in summer it can actually triplicate.
The coast of Manilva extends along 7.8 km. of coast, and offers both rocky beaches and beaches with fine sand.
