What is the Al Ándalus Train?

It is one of the most luxurious trains not only in Spain but in the whole of Europe. It’s like being in a 5-star hotel, but on rails and everything is included.

The train consists exclusively of first-class carriages that take us back in time to the Belle Epoque.

Of the 7 sleeping cars, 5 were built in France in 1929 and were at the disposal of the British Monarchy for their holiday trips to the Côte d’Azur.

They were carefully restored in the image of the legendary Orient Express and Trans-Siberian train and have been modernised with every comfort.

What is the Al Ándalus Train like?

The Al Ándalus Train is the longest train that runs on the tracks in Spain. It is 450 metres long.

It has 14 carriages for a total of 64 passengers, with seven sleeping cars, two restaurant cars, a kitchen car, a bar car, a games room car, a crew car and a generator car.

The train has only exclusive rooms (Grand Class Room and Deluxe Suite), reminiscent of the elegance of the 1920s and equipped with every comfort.

They have a full bathroom, WIFI connection and panoramic views. All of the facilities have been carefully designed down to the smallest detail.

The tour is possible with Malaga as a starting point and ending in Seville. Or with Seville as a starting point and ending in Malaga.

Starting this unique experience from Malaga, before boarding the train there will be a visit of the Alcazaba. Lunch at the restaurant of the Parador Castillo de Gibralfaro, where we will taste the most famous dishes of the local gastronomy.

In the afternoon we travel by coach to Granada, where our train will be waiting for us. The crew will welcome us with a toast.

The next day begins the luxury trip on rails with a visit to the Alhambra, a World Heritage Site. After lunch, there will be free time to explore the centre of Granada on our own. In the afternoon the train continues to Baeza.

After breakfast, we will have the opportunity to visit Úbeda and Baeza, two World Heritage Cities. In the afternoon our journey continues to Cordoba.

In Cordoba, capital of the Caliphate of Al Ándalus, we will visit the impressive Mosque of Cordoba, a World Heritage Site.

Back on board the Al Ándalus Train, we continue to Ronda and discover its impressive bridge over the Tajo among other emblematic sites. We will also have free time to explore the city on our own. And later we dine in a local restaurant, where we will taste the finest dishes of Ronda’s cuisine.

The next day our journey on board the Al Ándalus Train takes us to Jerez de la Frontera in Cadiz. We will visit a wine cellar with Denomination of Origin and we can enjoy an equestrian show.

On the sixth day of the trip, we travel by luxury coach to Cadiz. There we will visit the historic centre of this ancient city, the oldest in the western world. Afterwards we will have free time to explore the city on our own.

The last day will be spent in Seville, with a complete tour of the city, visiting monumental jewels such as the Cathedral and the Giralda. We also stroll through the Santa Cruz quarter, where the Jewish community once settled. This day we will have a magnificent lunch at the Hotel Alfonso XIII.

In the afternoon our exciting journey through the south of Spain comes to an end.

The price of the Al Andalus Train depends on the type of room. You can choose between Grand Class Room and Deluxe Suite.

Departures of the Al Ándalus train take place on from Santa Justa Station in Seville or from María Zambrano Station in Malaga.

Each year, departures begin in spring, at the beginning of April, and end in October, before winter. In this way, travellers can enjoy the good weather and pleasant temperatures that allow them to make the most of the entire programme.

How do I get to the starting point of the trip?

The transfer is at our own expense. However, when booking, we will have a 50% discount on 2 Renfe train journeys. One as an approach to the starting point and one return from the end point of the trip.
