For this route we start from Lanjaron, starting at the bridge of the local freeway towards Orgiva. We cross the river Lanjaron and take the path that runs parallel to the river until a plain of pines and firs.

Destination: Refuge Ventura at 2900 metres height
At the bifurcation we take the left path to continue our journey along the river, which we will have to cross to get to nearby houses known as 'Casas de Tello', which in the last century were devoted to forestry research.
The trail continues to the Refuge del Caballo, but before getting there we will find well preserved remains of typical architecture of the Alpujarra and the remains of a flour mill.
We continue ascending; along our way we will find more ruins of other cottages and a fountain which may or may not have water depending on the season.
Having reached the Refugio Ventura and after enjoying the sights and rested a while, we have to take the same trail to descend and get to the point of origin in Lanjaron.
