This municipality of Granada is located about 13 kilometres from the centre of Granada and offers interesting hiking trails to enjoy the nature that surrounds the place.
The main routes are:
Route from Quentar to Güejar Sierra

The return trip from Güejar Sierra we do by bus from Plaza del Ayuntamiento taking the bus number 390.
Quentar – El Calar – Güejar Sierra
Length: 22.96 kilometres
The journey has different points where water sources replenish our thirst for approximately 7 hours that lasts the journey on foot.
Quentar – Fuente Loca
A trail with little difficulty and about 20 kilometres length.
Quentar Reservoir – Argumosa – Tintin
Length: 16.54 kilometres
Quentar – Alto de los Jarales – Puente de la Duquesa
Length: 16 kilometres approximately
A recommended route starts at the reservoir of Quentar and goes to Tocon de Quentar, located at 1250 m. This tour runs along beautiful trails and plains that were once heavily mined during the Civil War and now of course have been removed.
The reservoir where we start the tour was built in 1976 and in its surroundings we find a vegetation of herbs such as rosemary, lavender and thyme.
If we visit Quentar from Granada, the best option is to drive direction to Genil on the A-44 and follow the GR-420 road passing by Pinos Genil and finally getting to Quentar.
From Malaga we bypass the city of Granada in the north via the A-92 and take the exit of Beas de Granada that will take us directly to Quentar.
