The Sierra de las Nieves National Park in Malaga

Nature and green tourism lovers and hikers will love this news: The beautiful Sierra de las Nieves in Malaga has become a National Park.

This is the third National Park in Andalusia, being the first one in the province of Malaga, as the other two are located in the provinces of Granada (Sierra Nevada National Park) and Huelva (Doñana National Park).

It is clear that what most attracts the vast majority of tourists who come to visit the Costa del Sol, are mainly its beaches during the summer months. Which is all very well, but anyone who has ventured to come to Malaga outside the high season months will inevitably return!

It is then, when we can really discover the charms and magic of a coast bathed in light and sunshine, its culture and savoir-faire, at a more leisurely pace and without crowds.

We love discovering new places. Today we present to you Genalguacil, the open-air art museum village, a literally very picturesque white village, situated at 500 m above sea level in the heart of the Serrania de Ronda.

To make it clear from the beginning: Genalguacil is one of these villages that you have to be eager to reach. Forget about getting there by bus, you need a car hire to get there. And be prepared for many bends on secondary roads through forests of pine, cork and chestnut trees that in autumn offer a spectacular display of colours.

Recommendations for the Caminito del Rey in autumn and winter 

Almost 30,000 tickets are already on sale to visit the spectacular Caminito del Rey during autumn and winter, the most ideal season in Malaga to enjoy beautiful walks in nature.

One of them is undoubtedly the Caminito del Rey, a spectacular aerial path rehabilitated along the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, which has been converted from one of the most dangerous paths in the world into an attractive route through this beautiful natural setting, and even more so now in autumn when temperatures drop and nature offers spectacular colours and contrasts.
