This route starts in the village El Rocio in Almonte from where we take the direction towards Matalascañas; very close is situated La Rocina, an interpretation centre where you can learn more about the history of El Rocio and from where starts a nearly 3 kilometres long trail which shows the interesting places of the area.
Once you found the paved road you have to take the route on the right hand side which takes you to Palacio del Acebron after a 3 kilometres´ walk, an old house constructed built in the mid-twentieth century that was restored and offers visitors information about the area and the heritage of the National Park Doñana.
The Palacio del Acebron has a nice story, it was built by a wealthy eccentric who ended bankrupt is now a visitor centre. Next to this place is situated a nice circular trail of almost 2 kilometres which offers its visitors viewpoints and spaces from which to observe the nature around the area.
Built in the middle of the 20th century, it is located in the beautiful natural environment of the Doñana Park.
From the doors of Palacio del Acebron you find the start of the trail El Charco de Acebron, which introduces you fully into the Natural Park Doñana during 4 kilometres which we recommend during spring or summer in order to see the forest in its full splendour.
