This route starts in the village of El Rocío in Almonte. From here, head towards Matalascañas to reach La Rocina, an interpretation centre where you can learn more about the history of El Rocío. From La Rocina, a nearly 3-kilometre-long trail begins, showcasing the fascinating aspects of the area.
Once you find the paved road, take the route on the right-hand side. This path leads you to Palacio del Acebrón after a 3-kilometre walk. This historic house, built in the mid-20th century by a wealthy eccentric who later went bankrupt, has been restored and now serves as a visitor centre. It offers insightful information about the area and the heritage of Doñana National Park.
The Palacio del Acebrón has an intriguing history and is surrounded by a picturesque circular trail of almost 2 kilometres. This trail features viewpoints and areas for nature observation, providing visitors with a chance to appreciate the surrounding beauty. The building itself, constructed in the mid-20th century, is set in the stunning natural environment of Doñana Park.
From the doors of Palacio del Acebrón, you can embark on the El Charco de Acebrón trail (map). This 4-kilometre route delves deep into Doñana National Park, showcasing its full splendour, especially during spring and summer. This trail is highly recommended for those looking to experience the forest at its most vibrant.
