In Punta Umbria is situated this natural area that stretches along the coast to the beach La Bota where you will find some hiking trails that you can follow in some sections on foot or by bike as the one towards the beach of Punta Umbria.
Juniper stands out among the flora of the area for ease in adapting to this sandy environment through which we can walk along trails or boardwalks through this natural landscape; an ideal place to spend the day given its proximity to town and the excellent beaches in the area, where thanks to the tides we can see shells of varied colours in the sand.
If you want to know more about the past of this place you can visit the Roman site where can be found the remains of an ancient Roman city, a necropolis and places for creating Garum, a coveted salsa in antiquity based on fish guts.
Hiking trail Pinos del Mar – Marismas del Odiel
This linear route of low difficulty which starts in Punta Umbria takes us to the Odiel Marshes after walking for about an hour its 4.5 kilometres.
Hiking trail Pinos del Mar – Laguna de El Portil
With its starting point in the Urbanization Pinos del Mar in Punta Umbria this route takes us to Laguna del Cuervo and afterwards to Laguna del Portil along its 7.6 kilometres which will take approximately 2 hours.

This trail borders Laguna del Portil and can be performed either on foot or by bicycle and you can access a bird observatory.
The distance is about 3.5 kilometres; the trail is circular and of low difficulty and can be done in about an hour and a half.
Hiking trail Polideportivo – La Peguera – Salinas de Astur
Starting in the Municipal Sports Centre of Punta Umbria this trail passes by La Peguera and finishes in Salinas de Astur, close to a bird observatory in the Odiel Marshes.
The route of 5.5 kilometres is of low difficulty and takes approximately 2 hours to complete.
Hiking trail Punta Umbria to Huelva
This trail, although of low difficulty, extends along 22 kilometres. It can be done by bike, it would take us approximately just under 2 hours and walking about 5 hours.
Along this route we will find different sections of wooden walkways that bring us closer to the beach and a camping and rest areas.
In the map below you can see a circular route of moderate difficulty by type of unevenness that can be done in less than an hour.
