The Teatro Ciudad de Marbella is the town’s main, purpose-built theatre. With 480 seats, excellent acoustics and good views from almost every seat, it presents a varied programme of theatre, dance, flamenco and opera. Its highlight is the annual International Opera Festival of Marbella. The Black Box Theatre, by contrast, is a flexible, intimate black-box space used for workshops, performing arts courses and smaller, often experimental productions. One offers a more formal evening; the other a closer, more participatory experience.
